Fall is in the air and you can begin to see the leaves changing colors. This is a sign to those of us who live in the NorthEast that our roping season is slowing down, at least for those of us who are not brave enough to go outside when it is still below freezing in the middle of the afternoon.
The NV/ID regional finals in Wimmemucca are in the book. Entries were up, the weather was great (a little rain is a good thing), cattle were good and the office staff was amazing. The effenciency that it takes for that many teams to run as smoothly as it did is to be commended. Directors, flaggers, chute help, producers thank you for a job well done!
The NWTRA finals will be held at Dave Stix arena on October 9th. Open to everyone, you do not have to be a member to rope! Please take a look at the order of events on the calendar or in the upcoming issue of the RSN. Members, we would like to have a short meeting prior to the first roping to elect officers and finish any old business before the new year begins. If you could arrive about 30 minutes early that would be greatly appreciated.
Don't forget about the year end donations, if you have not already given those to Carole Rogers then please contact her in regards to your situation as you will not be eligible for prizes if your donation is not received.
At the last phone conference the discussion of a year end banquet vs a roping came up. The consenses I got from the members is that it would be nice to have a roping one day then finish early so that we could have a BBQ then hand out awards. New Years day was one option. If anyone has some suggestions just let Austin know what your thoughts are.
Last but not least, ACTRA National Finals. The format has changed this year, in hopes to eliminate ropings ending at 10 pm. Take advantage of it and enjoy some time spent with good friends that we often only see once a year. Bring your family, enjoy your conversations and rope well. Hope to see all of you there.
Thanks to all of you,
Michelle Wolf
